Project Angel Tree: Sharing our Blessings to the Needy

Christmas is a season of love, a celebration of which is manifested by making someone happy. When the month of September starts, people begin to exude excitement for the yuletide season. They start planning what gifts to give and to whom it will be shared.

Project Angel Tree is thought out of love. It serves as an avenue for all of us to share what we have and make 10,000 less fortunate children experience happiness by giving them toys, food, clothes, school supplies and scholarship grants.

The Angel Tree Project is initiated by the Department of Labor and Employment in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Iligan City through Mayor Lawrence Ll. Cruz, and the Committee on Civil, Political, Human Rights; Responsibilities of City Councilor Marlene Young, with Vice Mayor Henry C., DyCouncilor Rudy Marzo, and Councilor Providencio A. Abragan Jr., SP Councilors and in partnership with the Congressman of the Lone District of Iligan Rep. Congressman Vicente “Varf” Belmonte and Madame Rosanna Belmonte and other ”Angel” benefactors.

Let us join this noble endeavor of sharing our blessings to the needy. Together, we will show among the kids, a glimmer of hope - that one day, their dreams will be realized and that they too, will be willing to extend a helping hand to the poor.

On September 3, 2011, 5:00 o'clock in the afternoon at the Rizal Park, Iligan City will be the Launching of the Project Angel Tree. Wear something white and be one of the Angels.
