Known for its crispiest and tastiest liempo, Tita Fannies has its humble beginning. The Onque family managed to utilize a 100 square meter area in putting up a restaurant. Using low cost native materials like bamboo furniture and nipa hut, Tita Fannies Chicken and Liempo Haus was finally launched on November 18, 1999 at Zamora St., Poblacion, Iligan City. “We wanted Iligan City to have its mark in the food industry” recalls Mrs. Nilda Onque. The family then had a very great idea of offering liempo and lechon manok in town. These were the main products that captured the taste of the Iliganons who kept coming back for more. Satisfied customers served as the company’s major promotional medium; the impact of which was beyond expectation. REACT Philippines, Inc. spearheads a Tree-Growing Activity in Iligan City

  March 4, 2012 will be another memorable day as the Regional Emergency Assistance Communications Team (REACT) spearheads Pag-amping sa Kinaiyahan: A Tree- Growing Activity. This is one of the organization’s projects to promote environmental conservation through planting trees in collaboration with local schools and community-based working groups. Brgy. Digkilaan, Iligan City was chosen as the venue for tree-growing because it is one of the greatly affected areas of the flashflood caused by typhoon Sendong barely two months ago. Over 600 participants comprised of the students, constituents of the said barangay, local officials, members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines will be planting 2,000 seedlings of trees. “This is one of the ways to educate the constituents about environmental consciousness and encourage them towards responsible stewardship of the environment,” says REACT Deputy Group Chief, Mr. Vladimir Tenorio.
