Lanao del Sur’s CDC hosts Nature Trek and Marches
The 1006th Community Defense Center in
cooperation with the 1st Ready Reserve Battalion, MSU ROTC Unit and
MSU Rearguards hosted the first “Nature Trek and Marches” on November 22, 2014
in Marawi City. Enthusiastic individuals from both private and government
units joined the 4-hour long trek from Kampo Ranao to MSU Main Campus. The trail
was a close up encounter with the nature’s goodness which made the trek
more exciting and adventurous.
Lt. Colonel
Bienvenido Alabot, the Infantry Director and head organizer said that the objectives of the said
event included the following:
To develop a healthy body and a sound mind for good governance;
To promote peace, unity and development through recreational activity;
To build up camaraderie among
individuals and to enjoy with your peers;
To appreciate the hidden panorama of Marawi City and Lanao del Sur; and
To promote the MSU-ROTC and the LDS RRBn.
“Our vision is by 2028, we will
become a world calss army that is a source of National Pride,” added Lt. Colonel Alabot.
Meanwhile, the participants enjoyed traversing the challenging trail,
feasting their eyes on the panoramic beauty of nature and satisfying their need
for food from various stations.
