MARIA CRISTINA FALLS | ILIGAN | THE CITY OF WATERFALLS

Image
Located in Lanao del Norte, Philippines , Iligan City takes pride to house 23 waterfalls,  one of which is the ever majestic Maria Cristina Falls -  the main outlet of the  country's largest freshwater lake - the  Great Lake Lanao. Maria Cristina Falls   is known  as the "Mother of Industry" &  "Fountainhead of Progress"  because it is the main source of electric power enjoyed by the city's industries and the entire Mindanao region. It is also called as the “twin falls” because of the rock that separates it at the brink of the waterfall. This has attracted tourists from various parts of the globe considering also that it is 320 ft. tall, making it the third highest waterfall in the country.  GETTING THERE:  From the City Proper, take a jeep (Iligan-Buruun) and ask the driver to drop you at the crossing going to Maria Cristina Falls. From the crossing of the national highway and road leading to ...

TINAGO FALLS | ILIGAN | THE CITY OF WATERFALLS

Image
Iligan is the home of 23 majestic waterfalls, a blessing that makes it to be called as the city of waterfalls. One of the highly visited waterfalls is the enchanting Tinago Falls. “Tinago” is a Filipino term which means hidden. It is suggestive of where it is located and how it can be reached. The Enchanting Beauty of Tinago Falls Going to Tinago Falls is quite a challenging experience especially for first-time goers. You need to hurdle approximately 423 steps to reach the bottom. However, you can set a pace that you are comfortable with by taking a rest before you continue to the next lower levels of the stairs. You can also enjoy the sound of rushing water so pleasing to the ears. You will be excited to move further until you reach the bottom. There and then, your strength will be rejuvenated with the cold water touching your skin like that of a spray. You will be fascinated with its cascading waters from a 190 ft. rock as well as the lush environment.  With its beauty so un...

MIMBALUT FALLS | ILIGAN | THE CITY OF WATERFALLS

Image
Dubbed as the city of waterfalls, Iligan houses 23 amazing waterfalls. Basically, no two waterfalls are alike and it makes me excited to visit all these. My waterfall series begins with the pocket of wonder - Mimbalut Falls . It is located at Barangay Buru-un, approximately 11 kilometers away from the city proper. It is also included in the Tourism Triangle coined by the city tourism office together with Maria Cristina Falls and Tinago Falls.   .   Photo Credit: Explore Iligan Mimbalut Falls appeared so beautiful to my sight, so virgin and natural. It is surrounded by lush  trees that made it more charming. It is approximately 90 ft. tall and 18 ft. wide with cascading waters that one can enjoy hydro massage. You can also enjoy swimming on its pool basin - hmmm.... need to try this on my 2nd visit this year :-) Photo Credit:  Joys in Life Iligan Paradise and Eco-Park has prepared a cable car for visitors' easy glance at the beautiful waterfall. IBS visits Iligan City's Tourism Triangle

Image
Product Knowledge in “marketing” parlance is the awareness of a marketer on the product’s origin, features and benefits. It is one of the essential things a salesman should know for him to be confident on what he is selling. Iligan Bloggers Society as an association of bloggers who are committed to promote Iligan City, took the first step of a “product knowledge” exploration.  Dated August 7, 2011, the adventurous Iligan Bloggers Society members visited the city’s “tourism triangle”- a label used by the City Tourism Office for the three tourist spots including the ever majestic Maria Cristina Falls , beautiful Mimbalot Falls and fascinating Tinago Falls .  While these places are really amazing, a negative impression on peace and order situation of the city is quite a critical issue which has created a bad image so to speak. Part of the itinerary was to visit the 2 nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade located at Brgy. Maria Cristina to know firsthand from th...
